A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE

The past week has been like a large rollercoaster ride. We went from having good days to bad days! It seems like there is little consistency in our life. We have had such a busy week! As I told you in our last blog, we would complete Hayden’s eight month celebration at my grandma’s on Thursday night! She is something spectacular! She cooked enough food for a week! She had two cakes, flowers, gifts for all of us, balloons! Hayden is definitely her heart!
Hayden loves his MawMaw and PawPaw so much! Not many Great-Grandparents would spoil a baby like this!
Happy 8 month celebration of life begins! Do you know many 8 month olds that get 2 cakes???
He loves his Papa and Nana so much! He has stolen their heart!!! He can't wait to eat his cake!
Hayden gets 8 month presents. They even include Pasquale's gift cards and Suzi paige gift cards! He even wrote a letter to mommy and daddy. He told us how much he loved us:) Mawmaw helped him!
Singing Happy 8 months to our sweet baby Hayden! He is spoiled we know!
He is going to love the day that he can throw a football with his mommy and dad!
He even got a lemon ice-box pie for his 8 month celebration! YUM YUM YUM!
On Friday, we headed to Jackson to complete our radiothon interview for Hayden. The radiothon is February 29, March 1, and March 2. We look forward to hearing all of the stories from our Batson friends. While in Jackson, Nana bought Hayden a lot of clothes! Hayden is so fortunate to have so many family members and friends that help dress him in beautiful clothes. Hayden is not really able to play with toys. This is a very discouraging and heartbreaking thing for Brent and I. I would love to play with him. I would love to have a toy box overflowing with toys.  I have realized that he is my special gift from GOD. Hayden not being able to play with toys just means he gets to play more with me! This is a blessing! As a kid, I did not really like to play with dolls. Hayden is my little doll! We always dress him up in beautiful clothes. We love dressing him up, kissing him, photographing him and then starting all over again! His daddy prefers camo! Mommy prefers beautiful “themed and smocked”! We arrived home that night to more clothes from his Nona and Aunt Meg. Little to say, Hayden has an amazing spring wardrobe (much better than a bunch of pointless toys)!

THIS WEEKEND was BAD. He cried, cried and cried a little more. He seized and jerked all day! Monday arrives and the pain continues! We called the Doctors in desperate need of help. They added Valium to help his poor muscles! I was a little upset to add medicine 7. So far it has made a tremendous difference. He cooed, SMILED, and cried less! Thank you lord for allowing us a “normal” like day yesterday! Please continue to allow him to feel peaceful! It breaks my heart to see him in pain! Remember in my last blog, I said that I had no doubt that Hayden would smile again! I knew he would SMILE! Thank you Hayden for your beautiful smile!
Suprise Smile for Nana!
I have grown close to a sweet high school student that loves Hayden so much. She sends me the sweetest messages asking about him weekly. I love seeing that Hayden’s testimony has impacted people of all ages. She sent me a message yesterday saying she had a happy for us! It is the neatest thing! Have you ever seen the seeds of happiness??? Well it is amazing! If you want to make someone happy and smile just give them a ball of clay. On the back of the card it says the following:
“Seeds of Happiness started out as a leftover lump of clay I made into little smiles to give out to friends who were going through hard times and needed a little smile. That was in 2006, since then I have given out thousands of smiles to folks, a handful at a time, In turn, they share them and the story with their friends in need of a smile. Then those people share with more friends and keep the story going. The seeds are all over the planet by now. I receive a lot of emails with photos and stories of how these little seeds have made a difference to someone. From Africa to the land down under, the seeds have been planted and smiles have been resurrected to people who need them. Seems a lot of people need smiles these days. Share a smile- help me spread seeds of Happiness”
Thank you Faith Ellen! Hayden would love to smile for you!

We are continuing to receive such an outpouring amount of love and support! We are so blessed to have such great friends that love Hayden like their own. Last week, we heard about a fundraiser that friends are doing in our town. My initial response was that is so sweet but we are completely fine. We greatly appreciate it, but please do not worry about it! Our friends informed us that they wanted Hayden to have an emergency fund for equipment and hospital stays in the future. We gratefully accepted this amazing and wonderful offer. For a moment, I had to learn to put my pride aside and let our friends help sweet Hayden. We cannot THANK everyone enough! I can’t wait to hear who wins the raffle ticket and the winning class at WS. We will definitely have a party! We are so blessed to have a support group that cares about Hayden. Thanks to our friends and family, Hayden will have a “cushion of support” for the medical needs in our future. Hayden’s seizures are in FULL force. We are having between 10 and 20 a day! Please continue to pray for our seizure free day! We received another smile and I DO BELIEVE THAT WE WILL GET ANOTHER SEIZURE FREE DAY! IT IS IN OUR NEAR FUTURE!

“God is good all the time no matter what”
I feel so blessed that God has chosen my family to take care of such a special Earth Angel. Hayden was placed on this Earth for a reason. He is making many families remember how to pray more often, have faith, stay strong, and LOVE like there is no tomorrow! Thank you Hayden Brent for your awesome love that you are giving to each of your family members! We love you!

  2. i knew he would smile again for you! im so happy, and i pray for many, many more! nothing is sweeter or makes you feel better than seeing your beautiful baby smile! oh and don't worry about the toy thing. even if he could play with them, he wouldn't want to. camdon will chew on something for a little bit, but then he wants right back into my arms! so you are doing exactly what he wants you to do! you will soon see that whoever did make "boy" toys, obviously doesn't have any! they are all SO LOUD AND ANNOYING! so enjoy it while you can! hold that baby, hug and kiss him as often as possible! i finally figured this out... it only took me 3 times! i also learned that there is NO such thing as holding your baby too much or spoiling them! pretty much everything "they" say is not true. you do what you think is best and what you want to do, which you already are. don't fret over what "they" say! keep being a strong mama! love ya'll and always praying for sweet hayden!
